Apr 20, 2016 Let Standard Users Run Programs as Admin. To let standard users run a program with administrator rights, we are going to use the built-in Runas command. To start, you need to know two things before you can do anything. The first one is the computer name, and the second one is the username of your administrator account. By default, applications run as the currently logged in user. Different users have different rights when it comes to accessing files, changing systemwide settings, and so on, depending on whether they are admin users or ordinary users. Some tasks require additional privileges above and beyond what even an admin user can do by default. The program is actually installed in the TWAIN directory tree on the Mac. (Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources) When I log on to a 'regular' admin level account (that is, the account does have administrative privileges) the program will not run; it thinks for a bit, and then says 'please run as administrator'. Apr 04, 2019 RunAsInvoker – run an app with the privileges of a parent process without the UAC prompt; RunAsHighest – run a program with the highest-level permission available to the user (the UAC prompt will appear if a user has the administrator privileges); RunAsAdmin – run an app as administrator (the UAC prompt appears each time).
Terminal User Guide
You must be an administrator or root user, also called superuser, to execute many of the commands used to manage a server.
For example, if you’re not an administrator or a root user, entering the
shutdown command gives you an error:
This is because the
shutdown command can be run only by the root user or by an administrator user with root user privileges.
To run commands with superuser privileges, use the
sudo command. sudo stands for superuser do.
The following example works on computers with macOS installed, so don’t run it unless you want to restart your computer:
![]() % sudo shutdown
You’re asked for the password of the current user.
Only administrator users can use
sudo . If you’re not logged in as an administrator, you can do so by entering the following command, where adminUsername is the name of an administrator user:
You’re asked to enter the password for adminUsername, after which a new shell is opened for that user.

If a command requires it, you can use
su to switch to the root user. Under normal circumstances, you shouldn’t log in as the root user. https://bureaubrown179.weebly.com/blog/window-minimzer-app-mac.

Important: If you use
su F5 access app mac. to log in as the root user, be especially careful, because you have sufficient privileges to make changes that can cause your computer to stop working.
